I have downloaded the iPhone APRS software mentioned in my previous article. So far I see some interesting things and I see some possible problems. I hope to have more details after I have played with it tomorrow. However, if you would like to track me on APRS my call is KG4ZXK-11 for the iPhone. I normally run KG4ZXK-7 for my mobile station.

Greetings! I have a question for you: I downloaded the iBCNU for my iPhone yesterday and although it says I am beaconing, I do not show up on GR or SN, the only way I will beacon is if I sign in on SN. Do you have any ideas as to why this is or if I have not set up the app correctly?

Good afternoon. Please forgive my ignorance but you are losing me with SN and GN???? Right now the app beacons will only show up on the internet and not over the RF systems. I go to aprs.fi or openaprs.com and I do see the beacons that it’s sending out for me. Does that help? If not please give me more information. I am holding off on the review for a few days because the author of the software is getting ready to send out an update with additonal features and fixes he said.
Also, you are a licensed amateur, correct? You have to have an FCC callsign for the system to work.
